Shaolin Temple Scenic Area includes two parts: the Shaolin Temple Area and Mountain Songshan Area.
First, buy an entrance ticket of 100 Yuan for the whole scenic Area. Go across the giant, white arch and go to ticket checking pass on the left. Press your ticket on the checking machine and go inside the scenic area. 50m further,  you will see there is an electrical car parking place on the left.  Anyone who don't want to walk can take a electrical car here. Buy a 10 yuan ticket in the mini pavilion and stand in a queue to wait for the bus ( Note: the ticket is for single way. You need to buy the ticket again when you come back)
On your right you can see a giant LCD screen erected in front of school. This is Tagou Wushu School, the biggest private kungfu school in China, about 2,7000 students ).
Walking along the walking path, 500m later,you get to a chinese -style building. This is the Shaolin Temple Wushu Training Center, where the shaolin Kungfu shows are provided every day). From 10:30 am to 16:30pm, every hour there is one show. Notice the time table on the entrance and choose the right time to see one show. When the show finished , all the tourists will go out of the demonstration hall from the side gate. That is the outside practise ground of all the performers. If you want to have a rest and have a cup of coffee, you can go upstairs to the upper ground to the Zen International Hotel. There is a coffee place in the lobby. But they only provide instant coffee. This a also a convinient place to live if you want to spend the nights.
Walking 500 meters more, you will get to gate of the Shaolin Temple. On every side of the temple there is seperatly one house. On the left side of the temple , is a vegetarian dining house, where processed vegetarian food is provided. On the right is the hospital of the shaolin Temple, where traditional chinese medicine is sold). Go upstairs to get into the Shaolin Temple gate and get your ticket punctured here.
Get out of the shaolin Temple, 100 m ahead, on your right you will see there is a zigzag path to the moutains. Raise your head and look toward the peak ,you will see a white statue and a pavilion on the top. That is the mediataion palce for Boddi Darma sat for nine years,1500 years ago. If you want to worship him and good at climbing ,just take this road  and climb forward. It will take you about 90 minutes to get to the top.
Go glong the former walking road  and 300 m more, you will arrive at the Pagoda Forest. There are about 240 pagodas in this area, and every pagoda has its story.
Here you finished the shaolin Temple Area and Entered the Songshan Mountain Area. Songshan is really beautiful in the summer and autumn. But it will take you at least 4 hours to climb around the mountain. You can take a cableway to get to skip the climb and enter the most attractive part directly. The price for the cableway is 60 Yuan for the round trip.
This is the real end for your trip in Shaolin after you are down from the Montain songshan. It will be a tired trip but unforgettable.
